Strummerville Festival Needs Animators

Strummerville Festival is inviting artists from all backgrounds to join them in an exciting project to create the visuals for some of their headlining acts.

The annual festival is set up by friends of The Clash’s Joe Strummer, to celebrate his contribution to music and is headlined this year by acts including Basement Jaxx, Luca C & Brigante, Guy Williams, Don Letts, Channel One, David Rodigan, Twinkle Brothers and Mr C.

The organisers are looking for 8 video artists to join the team, each to provide a one and a half hour visual set to compliment the live performances.

All artists including animators, illustrators, VJs and aspiring video producers are being encouraged to apply with a small fee and complimentary ticket offered to successful applicants.

Along with hosting an established lineup which also features The Pogues, Reverand and the Makers and KT Tunstell, the charity festival backs artists by offering support, resources and performance opportunities to those who normally would not have them.

This year it’s taking place between the 17-19th August and is being held in a secret location in Somerset, England.

Want to apply? All applicants should send examples of their work noting which acts they would like to work with along with a description of any relevant experience they may have. The final team will be announced on the 16th July 2012.

Applications must be sent to: rhyannon@treatmentstudio.com
